The BBC’s controversial day: 24/1/09

It was  a long wait for journalists this morning, to witness the  return of Jonathan Ross to host his Radio 2 programme after his controversial three month suspension.

Media attention was high and access low as Ross only made a  brief appearance as he arrived at the Radio 2 studio’s at Western House London.

According to the sunday papers, Ross finds himself in further controversy after comments he made within minutes  of opening  his show.

The BBC was also the focus of further demonstrations for Gaza. The fourth week of protests attacked the BBC for its controversial refusal to air an appeal for aid to Gaza.

The third week of demonstrations for Gaza was held in Trafalgar Square.

There where around 10 thousand protesters in attendance. According to the Stop the War Coalition. “To raise awareness of the terrible war crimes Israel are committing.”

Unfortunately scenes of further disruption and damage of businesses premises marred the event. A spokesman for Stop the War Coalition said, “ Starbucks is a very successful company and will continue to trade.”
