When the Khmer Rouge entered Phnom Penh, Prum Sisaphantha carefully made a small fabric bag (image 1) and placed in it her collection of negatives of her family’s portraits. The pouch stayed pinned to the waistband of her trousers for the next 4 years. Slowly, and through careful negotiation with the family we have been able to start piecing together the images and the family narrative. The embedded video is of Prum Sisaphantha dancing as part of the Royal Ballet. The video is an extract from one of the films made by ‘the Father King’ Norodom Sihanouk.
